Amanda Okafor

Registered Provisional Psychologist

(She/Her)

Amanda is a Nigerian-Canadian provisional psychologist with a deep appreciation for art in all its forms. As a dancer, she found healing and self-expression through movement, a language that transcends culture and connects stories of resilience. Today, she continues to share those stories through her work as a therapist, creating spaces of growth, learning, and compassionate support.

She holds a Master of Counselling degree and has spent over 10 years working in various mental health settings, including non-profit community organizations, immigration agencies, and post-secondary institutions. Her approach to therapy is collaborative and rooted in honouring each client’s individuality. She believes that every person holds the right to shape their healing journey and walks alongside her clients as they discover their unique strengths and capacities.

Her goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their strengths and make meaningful changes that nurture their overall wellbeing. Much like an artist curates their craft, Amanda helps clients cultivate authenticity, self discovery, and connection along the way.

My Approach

I approach therapy as a space of movement, reflection, and meaning, making a place where your stories can unfold freely and without judgment. Just as dance has been a source of healing and expression in my life, I see therapy as a rhythm between self-awareness, growth, and connection.

My work is grounded in collaboration and curiosity. I pay close attention to how identity, culture, and lived experiences shape who we are and how we move through the world. As a Nigerian-Canadian therapist, I understand the complexity of navigating multiple cultural worlds, the beauty, the pressure, and the unspoken layers that often come with it.

With over a decade of experience in mental health across community organizations, immigration services, and post-secondary settings, I strive to offer a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their strengths and make meaningful change. My goal is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your voice, honour your story, and build a life that feels aligned with who you are becoming.
