Dana Young, R.Psych
Registered Psychologist
(She/Her)
Dana Marie Young is a Canadian Registered Psychologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based care grounded in collaboration and cultural sensitivity. With extensive experience in clinical psychology and occupational mental health, she supports individuals navigating trauma, chronic pain, workplace injuries, return-to-work challenges, and life transitions.
She is known for her warm presence, thoughtful communication, and ability to create a safe, meaningful space for healing. Dana is continually inspired by the courage clients bring to therapy and is honoured to support them through their journeys. As a new mother, she finds grounding in time with her family and daily walks in nature and experiences that continue to shape her understanding of resilience, connection, and well-being.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence based practice. I believe healing happens when clients feel safe, understood, and empowered, so I work alongside you to explore your experiences at a pace that honours your needs. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), to tailor our work in a way that supports both clarity and meaningful change.
With a background in clinical psychology and occupational rehabilitation, I also bring a strong focus on trauma, chronic pain, workplace injuries, and the emotional impact of health and life transitions. My work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and guided by principles of social justice, equity, and inclusion.
Whether we’re processing difficult experiences, rebuilding your relationship with your body, or developing practical tools for managing stress, mood, or pain, my goal is to create a space where you feel supported, capable, and connected to what matters most in your life.
